Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I work for the Forge Community Church and absolutely love my role - helping people in our local community through various projects. One of the ways in which we try to be known, involved and helpful in our local community is by providing a hardship fund where professionals can apply for small grants to assist those in financial need. This year we have already been able to help several individuals/families with grants towards things such as essential white goods, cookers, school uniform, food, clothing and heating oil. This provision so often helps to relieve financial pressure at a time when people are at a point of desperation.

To be able to continue providing this service to our local community, we need to fundraise. I've been working hard to get myself fit again and this half marathon gives me a running challenge to aim towards and an opportunity to raise funds for this fantastic project.

And here's the added incentive for you to donate to the cause... If we can smash past my £1000 target and reach £1500 before race day, I'll be letting my friend and colleague, Ben Lasky, choose what I wear for the race. For those of you that know Ben, this is a high risk move for myself, but it's a risk I'm willing to take if it means I can gain more support for this fantastic cause.

Thank you in advance for your support.
