Matt's Year of Half Marathons, Inspired by Sir Bobby Robson

Matt Cameron is raising money for Newcastle Hospitals Charity

Sir Bobby Robson Half Marathon Challenge

The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation was launched by Sir Bobby to help find more effective ways to detect and treat cancer. Working within the NHS, we fund cutting-edge cancer treatment and innovative cancer services.

Story

Sir Bobby Robson's European management career took in the glamorous cities of Barcelona, Porto, Lisbon, London, Eindhoven, Newcastle and.... Ipswich.

So when thinking of how to mark my 40th year (I know, I was shocked too) I thought what better way of ruining what is left of my knees, and my wife's patience of me constantly:

a. Finding new locations around Europe to drink beer

b. Constantly going on about running training plans and the next pair of new trainers

Ok, enough of the bollocks, here's the half marathon plan:

9th March - Lisbon

6th April - London

7th September - Newcastle (Great North Run)

14th September - Porto

21st September - Ipswich

12th October - Eindhoven

15th February 2026 - Barcelona

Impressive right? Well, lets see if I can actually do it, but to help with the motivation any donation that you can make to this amazing cause which means a lot to me would be hugely appreciated, cheers!
