I'm taking on the Yorkshire Marathon to raise some money for the fantastic Leeds Rowing Club. LRC juniors like my 15-year-old son Finlay come from all walks of life and all over the Leeds area, so it’s amazing when they take on and beat the likes of Eton and St Paul's in major competitions! LRC work really hard to keep costs down. For example, Finlay's cohort all help to train the age-group below them, and they all learn how to look after and maintain the boats. This has succeeded in opening up the sport to lots of young newcomers - but in turn that means more funds are needed to keep them with us and help them reach their potential.
