Story
I’m running 50 miles in November for the I Am Billy Foundation
Most people do Movember and grow a magnificent moustache. I tried. Unfortunately, puberty seems to have given me a polite nod and carried on without me. So instead of cultivating patchy bum-fluff for 30 days, I’m taking on something I can actually finish in a month: running 50 miles (in British weather… send help). I’m doing it for a brilliant cause, the I Am Billy Foundation.
Why this matters
The I Am Billy Foundation, inspired by Billy and Charlotte Caldwell, puts patients first. They champion proper science—supporting clinical trials and real-world evidence—so the NHS has the data it needs to make informed decisions about cannabis-based medicines. It’s about rigorous evidence, safer access, and better options for people who really need them.
Why me?
Because I can run (slowly), and because this is too important to ignore. If I can turn a month of plodding into something that helps patients and accelerates the right kind of research, that’s a very good trade.
Where your money goes
Your donation helps the Foundation:
Support clinical trials and research the NHS can rely on
Amplify patient voices and lived experience
Push for safer, fairer access—with science, not hype
(For transparency: the Foundation raises funds in support of GivingWorks, UK Charity No. 1078770.)

Thank you for cheering, donating, and laughing (kindly) at my “unique” running style. I’ll post sweaty updates as I go. Here’s to 50 miles, one step at a time; for Billy, for patients, and for better evidence.
Thank you!
