10YFAN · 10 May 2025 to 11 May 2025 ·

A voluntary mountain rescue team assisting people who are injured or lost in the mountains, semi rural areas of South, West and Mid-Wales. All our team members are unpaid and we rely solely on fundraising to provide our service that costs in excess of £30,000 a year.

Story

The Western Beacons MRT are a volunteer organisation, covering one of the largest areas for a single team in the UK.

They give their time and risk their own safety to help a wide variety of people and assist other emergency services, in aiding, finding and rescuing people from a variety of circumstances.

On 9th May I will be taking on the Ten Y Fan challenge, which involves ascending and descending Pen Y Fan in South Wales 10 times in 24 hrs, to raise money for Western Beacons MRT.

This equates to a total distance of 60km with a total elevation of 4500m, on an average incline of 17%.

I'll be starting at 6pm and going through the night, with the aim of finishing qithon 15 hrs.

I'd be very grateful if you would consider donating to this fantastic charity.
