In Loving Memory of Matt

Matt was an exceptionally talented musician, a loving son and family member, and a deeply kind and caring friend. He sadly died after a long and difficult struggle with his mental health in January 2026.

From a young age, Matt was always joking around. He was funny, silly, and full of life — someone who could make people laugh without trying, and who brought warmth into every room he entered. Those qualities never left him. Even as he grew older and his world expanded, Matt remained gentle, thoughtful, and deeply caring about the people around him.

Music was at the heart of Matt’s life. A gifted guitarist, he attended the BRIT School, where his talent and dedication quickly became clear. After leaving school, he pursued a career in music and went on to achieve great success with the band Black Midi. Through this, Matt was able to do what he loved most — creating music — and to share it with people all over the world.

Matt will always be loved by his family and friends. He touched countless lives through his music, his humour, and his kindness.
