Story
Thank you to everyone who supported me. We have managed to buy 9 sleeping bags that have the right temperature rating. Not quite what I was aiming for, but in hindsight makes storage much easier. I think that with this we can meet my goal of ensuring no cadet misses out. Thank you again.

The Ten Tors Challenge is an event that takes place on Dartmoor over a weekend in May, where teams of six have to complete a course over two days being completely self sufficient. They walk through ten checkpoints covering distances of either 35 miles, 45 miles or 55 miles depending upon the challenge they have entered.
Before this though, throughout the months leading up to the challenge (winter) they have to attend at least 6 training weekend, camping out, walking and gaining the basic skills to complete the challenge successfully and most importantly safely.
This generation have a reputation for being on their games console or mobile phone and not getting out like we used to. Having been part of the south west area training team for the last few years, I have seen them shed this reputation and step up to learn about themselves, their peers, and put themselves forward for something I don't think any of us could do, and few of us could have done at our peak.
I take my hat off to these youngsters and feel that these really are the people who will drive our world forward in the future. The grit, determination, drive and self assurance this challenge nurtures is amazing.
To ensure the participants are safe, the rules state that everyone who participates in the challenge, even the training must have a sleeping bag that has a comfort rating down to -2degC and these are not cheap. I am trying to raise funds so that we can buy 18 sleeping bags so that our cadets can all participate and none of them are unable to be given the opportunity because they cannot afford to buy the required kit. If I don't reach the target then I'll buy as many as I can, if I can exceed it, then we can buy other items to support our future generations.
To help raise money I will ask the cadets to participate in sponsored walks, and raise funds to this just giving page.
Thank you for reading this, and for any donations you might give
