My Why:

My son, Landon Meo, passed away from childhood brain cancer when he was just 10 ½ years old. His loss has been devastating, beyond what words can fully express. Since Landon’s passing, trail running has become my way of processing grief and finding connection with him. The farther I run, the closer I feel to him.

The run is especially meaningful as it falls on the four-year anniversary of Landon’s diagnosis (March 25th). I plan to document the journey and dedicate it to 140 children impacted by cancer, with the hope of raising awareness for childhood cancer and honoring their strength.

How your donation will make an impact

Your support through Unravel Pediatric Cancer is driving groundbreaking research led by Dr. Jay Sarthy, M.D., Ph.D. He is working to bring a promising pediatric cancer drug—already shown to offer lower toxicity and improved survival rates for children—from overseas to the US. This life-saving breakthrough relies on philanthropic contributions like yours, as government funding cannot be used for overseas projects. Your generosity is helping make this treatment a reality for the 18,000 children diagnosed with cancer in the US each year.
