Story
On Saturday 28th March our world changed in an instant when our younger brother Nick suffered a cardiac arrest while watching TV at home.
The brilliant team of first responders and paramedics, led by the Beds and Herts Emergency Critical Care Scheme (BHECCS) arrived within minutes. They worked tirelessly for over an hour to restart Nick’s heart and successfully stabilised him before accompanying him to Harefield Hospital.
Despite the very best efforts of everyone involved in his care, Nick sadly passed away 8 days later.
In Nick’s memory, we have created this page to raise awareness of BHECCS and to fundraise in support of their vital work. BHECCS is a completely voluntary service that receives no government funding, despite the exceptional care they provide.
Nick loved planes, military history and had visited Duxford on several occasions. In his memory and along side our friend Helen, we will be taking part in the Duxford Dash - a 10k run around the museums airfield on 25th October, just 7 days after what would have been Nick’s 54th birthday.
