Delivering Hope (in a Milk Carton)
We’ve all felt the "pinch" lately, but for many families in Cardiff, the cost of living crisis has moved beyond a struggle—it’s a daily crisis. People in our own community are having to choose between heating their homes and putting food on the table.
I recently toured our local food bank and was honestly floored. The sheer scale of the operation is a testament to the incredible work they do, but it’s also a heartbreaking indicator of how many people now rely on them just to survive.
The Reality: In the past, the food bank could rely almost entirely on physical food donations. But as everyone’s budgets have tightened, those donations have dropped. Today, they rely heavily on fundraising to buy the essentials they need to keep the shelves stocked.
To help "pour" some support back into this incredible charity, I’ll be running the Cardiff Half Marathon dressed as a giant carton of milk.
It’s going to be a long, sweaty 13.1 miles, but it’s nothing compared to the challenges many of our neighbors face every day. I’m running to raise awareness and every penny I collect goes directly to fighting the good fight for people in need.
How you can help:
Donate: Even the cost of a "real" pint of milk makes a difference.
Share: Help me spread the word so we can hit our goal!
Let’s make sure nobody in Cardiff goes hungry.
