Story
This year we're celebrating the 27th year of the "Legendary" North Devon Grand Tour - a three day event over the August bank holiday when a group of like-minded "nutcases" all get into their Minis and drive around North Devon to raise money for the Children's Hospice South West.
Over the course of the weekend we'll go on three driving routes, passing different villages and towns:
• a short run on Saturday night from Northam Burrows to Abbotsham;
• a much longer run from Westward Ho! on Sunday, everyone wearing silly hats;
• and the main event on Bank Holiday Monday from Bideford, when we'll all be in fancy dress, including our cars. Our current plan for this year is 'Penguins of Madagascar'.
There's around 250 Minis taking part in the event, plus a group of skilled motorbike marshals, and the local public line large parts of the routes to wave at us (and we all wave back).
