Team: Value Match Team fundraising for Teenage Cancer Trust

Hadrian's Wall Hike

We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

I’m taking on Hadrian’s Wall Path — 135 km (84 miles) in just TWO DAYS — to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust.

This started when our framework partner chose to fundraise for the charity, with a personal back story in support of Lindsay. It felt like the right moment to dust off the pink socks and do something that genuinely matters.

Cancer has touched my life more times than I’d ever wish: my Mum and Dad, close friends, and their families. I’ve seen first-hand the courage it demands, and I’m in awe of the attitude, endurance, and fight people show when they refuse to be defined by it. Every one of you is a warrior.

I know times are hard, and there are always fundraising requests everywhere. But I’m hoping the combination of a charity that means so much to so many and the sheer challenge of completing this in two days might nudge you to donate, even if it’s a small amount.

My goal is to raise £1,000. If you can help, I’d be genuinely grateful. Let’s smash it for Teenage Cancer Trust.

Accommodation is booked about 70 km into the walk, leaving about 65 km for day two. I’ve got a target, I’ve got some grit in me, but the jeopardy is real. Can I do this in two days? I’m not sure… but there’s only one way to find out!

Teenage Cancer Trust is Lindsay's nominated charitable cause, which Value Match will be supporting as a team moving forward.

Lindsay has been instrumental in creating and developing the procurement and sustainable services we provide at Value Match. We are focused on improving the outcomes for schools and, through that, positively impacting children and young adults in numerous ways.

Our values and beliefs in public service are embedded in what we do and how we deliver those services. Despite Lindsay having received a terminal cancer diagnosis, she has remained focused on working towards making a positive impact and has not let cancer get in the way of that focus. Her commitment and work ethos is truly inspiring.

Supporting Teenage Cancer Trust as a Value Match Team is part of building a positive legacy and further reinforcing our belief that everyone can make a difference.
