I’m really proud to be supporting Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity throughout 2026. The hospital has helped my two children countless times over the years, and we’re incredibly lucky to have such an exceptional service right here in Sheffield. My daughter broke her wrist playing football last year and the care she received was outstanding — it reminded me just how vital this place is for so many families.

To give something back, I’ll be taking on a series of events this year, including:

Sheffield Half Marathon – 29 March 2026 (fun… but very hilly)

Milan Marathon – 12 April 2026 (the big one to kick off the season)

Sheffield Duathlon – 25 April 2026

Berlin Marathon – 27 September 2026 (a late place and my first time completing two international marathons in one year)

At my age, it feels like the right time to cram in these challenges and keep myself motivated, fit and healthy — especially through the dark winter months and what’s been the hottest summer of training I can remember. It’s been tough, but worthwhile.

All proceeds go directly to the charity (not my beer fund — although I’m a lightweight these days after cutting back for marathon training). I’m grateful for every bit of support; it genuinely keeps me going and helps get me over those 26.2 miles in one piece.
