Dear Friends and Family,

On April 13th, I will be running the Kent Spring Marathon in honour of my beloved grandmother, Sheila Adams, who was diagnosed with a myeloproliferative neoplasm (MPN) last year. Myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs) are a rare group of blood cancers in which the bone marrow produces too many blood cells. This can lead to thicker blood and disrupted circulation, increasing the risk of complications.

Her bravery and determination have been a constant source of inspiration for our family. Her kindness, warmth, and strength are unmatched, with a smile and laugh that can clear even the darkest clouds. My grandma is deeply cherished by her many friends and family, and I’m honoured to run 26.2 miles through the beautiful Ashford, Westwell, and Charing countryside to represent such a special and irreplaceable lady. Training for this marathon has been a rewarding challenge, covering 45km per week, and I’m inspired every day by my grandma’s strength to keep pushing forward.

To support her and others affected by MPNs, I am partnering with MPN Voice, a charity dedicated to providing information, support, and critical research for this rare group of blood cancers.
