Story
After seeing a similar type of fundraising, Kayleigh suggested doing similar for a cause that is more personal to us. As an exiled Carlisle fan (Kayleigh) and an adopted Cumbrian (Matt) living in the Midlands, we are going to the Tamworth (A) game on 14th March. The distance from our home to the Lamb Ground is roughly 16 miles, so we (Matt the logistics man) have prepared a route to cover 16.6 miles to represent the 166,000 people in the UK who are living with Parkinson’s.
Matt’s grandad, Kev, who is his biggest hero, is living with Parkinson’s, causing many challenges and difficulties for him and his lovely wife (Matt’s grandmother) as well as the wider emotional impact on those who love him. Kayleigh’s late grandad, Bob, also had Parkinson’s, so she knows firsthand how cruel this disease can be.
