Story
You may have already seen on my social media that I wanted to do something in October for The Welcome Centre based in Huddersfield. The Welcome Centre are a foodbank that help local families and individuals in crisis with food, toiletries, and other essential items. The aim of this fundraiser is to ease the pressures for those experiencing extreme disadvantage in our community.
Alongside fundraising via this link, I will be collecting food items so feel free to get in touch if you have food and/or toiletries to donate, as I will be distributing to other food banks in the local area.
Amongst all of this, I will be running at least 150km in October and documenting this on Strava. I hope this shows my dedication to the cause and my passion around supporting the most disadvantaged people within our community. With the cost-of-living crisis (amongst other things), it is vital that we contribute to making this a touch easier for families and individuals who will be hardest hit. The last thing I want is to be reading headlines about people deciding on whether they eat or heat their homes in this testing winter period upon us.
Thank you for taking time to read this and I thank you in advance for all your support throughout October.
