Thank you for visiting my page.
We're supporting Sarcoma UK, a national charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments. Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in the bone and soft tissue. It is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat.
By supporting this event, we can help change this.
2024 marks a decade since we lost Jonathan Anstey to Sarcoma. Since that time, approximately 1.67 Million people have lost their lives to cancer in the UK alone.
So on May 18th, the Anstey family and a group of amazing friends will aim to accumulatively lift a total of 1.67 million kilograms, representing one kilogram for each person's life lost.
We will be deadlifting, squatting, bench pressing and pulling our way to the total.
Here are the milestones we are aiming to meet:
- 3,800kg for the 3,800 under 24-year-olds diagnosed with cancer each year
- 5,300kg for the 5,300 yearly Sarcoma diagnoses
- 54,000kg for the 54,000 Sarcoma diagnoses in the last 10 years
- 167,000kg for the 167, 000 people who lose their lives to cancer every year
- 390,000kg for the 390,000 adults diagnosed with cancer in the last year
- 1,670,000kg for the 1,670,000 people that have lost their lives since we lost our Dad 10 years ago (1 kg for each person)
Thank you in advance for any contributions. Your donation will help researchers find answers, keep our support line open, and raise awareness to improve treatment and standards of care.
Thank you for your support.
