Watching my grandmother struggling with dementia and go from a vibrant, active, loving woman to a shell of her former self has been heartbreaking.

The emotional and financial strain it has placed on our family has seen us join the thousands of families struggling with this disease and the horrendous impact it has on those living with it and their loved ones.

The support we received from the Alzheimer's Society was vital in guiding us down the right path for Mary's care and ensuring she could live as well as possible with the disease.

That is why I am raising money for Alzheimer's Society to support their vital work in supporting individuals and their families and their push for greater care and diagnostic services in Wales.
