Story

Thanks for supporting my fundraising.

As most of you will know I have had my own personal challenge with cancer in the last five years, having been diagnosed with stage 3 bowel cancer in May 2021. Despite a number of bumps in the road, I would appear to be one of the lucky ones.

I have decided therefore to fundraise to help others not as lucky as me and to fund research into one day curing this truly awful disease. I am competing in IronMan Sweden in Kalmar on Saturday 15th August.

Please sponsor me if you are able too, and/or watch my progress on the IronMan tracker on race day. Your support will get me to the finish line, it did last time when in a very dark place on the run!!

I am supporting both Bowel Cancer UK and Great Oaks Hospice. I would ideally like to donate an equal amount to both, so if you can try to balance up the two amounts that would be fantastic.

Bowel Cancer UK is the UK’s leading bowel cancer charity.

They fund targeted research, provide expert information and support to patients and their families, educate the public and professionals about the disease and campaign for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care.

They’re here to stop people dying of bowel cancer.

Get yourself tested!!

For more than 20 years, Great Oaks Hospice has provided hospice services across the Forest of Dean District and our part of Gloucestershire. Throughout this period, they have modelled their services to meet the demands of the patients in our community and they plan to grow and adapt our services to deliver what our community requires moving forwards. Your donation will help make this a reality.

Thanks, Matt.
