Story

In April 2026, I’ll be taking on the Manchester Marathon — my first full marathon. But this one’s not just about ticking off a personal goal… I’m doing it to support my good mate James Blair, who’s taking on an unbelievable challenge.

He’s running the Paris, Manchester, and London marathons on three consecutive weekends — yep, three full marathons, back to back! He’s doing it to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association, after his stepdad Mike was diagnosed with MND in the summer of 2024.

He's really inspired me to get involved and do my bit to help him by being by his side for 26 of the 78 miles he will be doing over the 3 weekends. Hopefully he doesn't bore me to tears by the end of it.

MND is a horrible disease that affects the nerves in the brain and spine — it gradually takes away the ability to move, speak, and eventually breathe. There’s no cure yet, but the MND Association does amazing work funding research and supporting people living with it.

So, on April 19th, 2026, I’ll be out there running the streets of Manchester (hopefully still standing at the finish line!) to help raise as much as I can for such an important cause.

Any donation, big or small, would mean a lot — every bit helps support families affected by MND and pushes research forward.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read this and for any support you can give. Let’s help make a difference 💙

£85 could pay for an important chemical to preserve 600 tubes of cells when they are frozen

£280 could pay for a person with MND to download their banked voice

£500 could fund a tablet device, giving the ability to communicate with loved ones

£1000 could pay for detailed analysis of DNA to help us better understand the causes of the disease.
