Welsh 3000 · 5 September 2026

We provide support to people and their families in the UK who have Phelan-McDermid Syndrome (chromosome 22q13.3 deletion). This support is provided through information, therapies and financial grants, and by organising family days and get-togethers. Thank you for supporting PMSF UK.

Story

15 Peaks in 24 Hours: Taking on the Welsh 3000s for Max & PMSF UK

Our Story

Last year, our lives changed when our son, Max, was diagnosed with Phelan-McDermid Syndrome (PMS)—a rare genetic condition that affects development, speech, mobility, and overall health. Navigating a rare diagnosis is tough, but finding the Phelan-McDermid Syndrome Foundation UK (PMSF UK) gave our family hope, resources, and a community when we needed it most.

Now, we want to give back to ensure they can keep supporting Max and families like ours.

The Challenge: Welsh 3000s

On September 5th, 2026, myself and 11 close friends are taking on the Welsh 3000s Challenge.

This isn't a casual hike. To complete it, we must:

Hike all 15 mountains in Wales over 3,000 feet high.

Cover over 30 miles (48 km) of rugged terrain.

Complete the entire journey within 24 hours without using any form of transport between peaks.

It’s going to be brutal, exhausting, and grueling—but every step will be worth it to raise awareness and support for Max and the entire PMS community.

Where Your Donation Goes

Every single pound raised will go directly to PMSF UK to help them:

Provide vital support and resources for families facing a new diagnosis.

Fund research into better treatments and care for Phelan-McDermid Syndrome.

Raise awareness so that children like Max get the understanding and support they deserve.

How You Can Help

Donate: Any amount, big or small, directly impacts families living with PMS.

Share: Please share this page with your friends, family, and social networks to help us spread the word for Max!

Thank you so much for your support, encouragement, and donations. Wish us luck on September 5th!
