Three of us will be taking part in the National Three Peaks Challenge

The National Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales, within a 24 hour period.

The MK Food Bank provides emergency food parcels to families and individuals in Milton Keynes, who have hit a short term crisis. MK Food Bank has supported the local community with emergency food parcels since 2004.

We are looking to raise £1,850 which will support with:

• £1,000 will pay for 50 emergency food parcels.

• £500 will pay for the diesel bill for the food bank's vans for a month.

• £250 will pay for tinned goods.

• £100 will make up 20 family recipe kits to encourage cooking skills and food education

Statistics:

In terms of stats, the bank now reached levels of demand not seen since the height of the covid pandemic in June 2020.

Jan – March 2023 has seen an increased demand of 49% on the same period last year. This equates to nearly 7,500 parcels distributed (against 5,000 this time last year)

The Month of March has been our busiest time since Covid with over 2,700 Food Parcels going out in MK alone.

Cost of food as well as increased demand has led to significant gap between donations in food out – we are now receiving only about half what we need, leading us to have to spend £20k + per month on food to make up the shortfall.

The MK food bank wouldn't be able to do this without the ongoing kindness and support from fundraisers and supporters, both in terms on money and food donations. With thanks to your incredible generosity we can continue to sustain this increase and support communities in the Milton Keynes area.
