Matt’s Marathon for Mind

The Norfolk Marathon 2024 · 28 April 2024 ·
I’m running in memory of my late brother-in-law Harry who we sadly lost in April 2020, and to raise money for the charity Mind. Whenever I run and I hit a point where I’m struggling, I think about Harry and the struggles he had to deal with daily. Me and Harry had the stereo typical relationship when someone dates a younger sister. Showed me no mercy and made sure to jest at my expense at every opportunity. It stemmed from absolute loyalty to his baby sister and a wicked sense of humour that I grew to love almost straight away. He also tapped me in BJJ more times than I can count and never conceded to me! Sadly I’ll never get a chance to test that title again but whenever I’m physically tested to my limits I’ll always remember looking up at that grin and the will he had for me to succeed.
We all know we need to look after our physical health but our mental health is just as important if not more so. For some of us this is easy, seeing friends, exercising, doing things that make us happy. But for some people just the mundane can seem unimaginably difficult. Some people suffer in silence, some people talk. For those who find themselves in crisis, knowing where to turn could make the difference.
I would greatly appreciate anything you can give to raise money for Mind, a charity that helps people to overcome their struggles.
