Story

On 12 April 2026 I’ll be running the Brighton Marathon to raise money for Evelina Children’s Charity.

This is a charity that means a huge amount to my family, and one I’m proud to support once again.

In 2023 our son became seriously ill and was treated at Evelina London Children’s Hospital. It was a really worrying time for us as parents, but from the moment we arrived the care he received was incredible. The doctors, nurses and staff were not only brilliant at what they do, they were also incredibly kind and supportive to us as a family during a very difficult time.

Every year more than 103,000 children and young people are treated at Evelina London, which is part of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. Families experience first-hand the warmth and dedication of teams who are constantly looking for better ways to treat and care for children.

Evelina Children’s Charity helps fund equipment, research and facilities that go beyond what the NHS alone can provide, helping ensure children receive the very best care possible.

Because of the care our son received, this charity will always mean a lot to us. Running the Brighton Marathon feels like a small way to say thank you and help support the amazing work they do for other families going through similar experiences.

I’m also trying (once again) to break the three-hour marathon barrier, something that’s beaten me a few times before. If I manage it this time, maybe there’s an extra donation waiting at the finish line.

If you’re able to donate, we’d really appreciate it.

Thank you for your support.
