Some say strength and resilience grow and you build it through life experiences but our son Arthur contradicts this. Arthur and his twin were born on 5th September 2023 and so far he has had over 39 admissions to multiple different hospitals, undergone multiple surgeries, more testing, hospital and doctors appointments then you can imagine but he shows more strength then most.

So far he has been diagnosed with multiple genetic conditions and has very limited eyesight. He has been fed via an NG tube since he was 3 weeks old through his nose and in February he had a feeding PEG inserted into his stomach and hopefully he can move onto a blended diet soon, we are unsure if he will ever independently walk, feed himself or even sit up without support. All this being said, he is the toughest little person I have ever met and keeps bouncing back from challenge after challenge.

Playskill have made a huge difference to our lives supporting us through a tough start to Arthurs life. They have helped us with physiotherapy, speech and language sessions, occupational therapy sessions, getting the chance to meet other families going through their own challenges, a shoulder to cry on and lots more.

The charity relies on donations and support so me (dad!) and Arthur’s godfather Chris are aiming to run the length of Hadrian’s Wall (73 miles) to raise as much money as we can to give a little back so Playskill can help others like they have and continue to help me, Hannah (mum) and Arthurs sisters Violet, Ruby and Iris.
