Story
Update 9th August. Hit £750 today so, with one race still to go, I've raised the target to £1,000. To hit that would be amazing! Thanks to everyone that's supported me so far!
In May 2022, I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. I guess it wasn't a gigantic shock given my lifestyle over the previous 25 years but it was clear that I had to make changes.
A bunch of them were dietary but a massive part of it was exercise. So I started running. I didn't like running. I'm still not sure I like running. But I did it anyway.
After saying I'd never run over 5k, I started going further, then I ran the Cardiff 10k at the end of last summer. Then I signed up to run the Newport 10k (28th April), the Cardiff Bay 10k (19th May), the Porthcawl 10k (7th July) and the Cardiff 10k (1st September) this year. Which I might regret!
So, as the diabetes diagnoses started me on this path in the first place, I figured that I could use these races to raise some money for Diabetes UK.
I'd love to set PBs but I don't really have any targets other than to complete the 4 races and not embarrass myself!
