Back in 2024, Rotherham United Community Trust hit a huge milestone, kicking off our brand-new Powerchair Football sessions at Rotherham Leisure Centre, and we did it in style. The big launch on Saturday 6th April saw over 50 people turn up, including friends from the Sheffield & Hallamshire FA and the Wheelchair Football Association, all showing their support for this exciting new chapter.

Powerchair Football is the only active team sport that’s fully inclusive for wheelchair users and people with severe mobility impairments. It’s quick, skilful and seriously competitive, and now, thanks to RUCT, it’s here in Rotherham and free to play until at least 2026.

On March 21st, 2026, a dedicated group will embark on a challenging bike ride from New York Stadium to Lincoln City football club to raise funds for powerchairs. This journey is not just about cycling; it represents the triumph over adversity. Each participant has faced their own battles with illness and injuries but has persevered to embrace an active lifestyle through football.

Now we need your help to ensure that others can experience the joy of playing Powerchair Football. Our target is £200 as part of "The 50K Power Play" campaign. Your support will make a significant difference in providing essential equipment for those who wish to join this incredible sport.
