Story
The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is leading a movement against suicide - the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK. Their goal is a life less miserable for you, your friends, your family and for everyone.
MH&A selected CALM as our charity partner given my and others' experience of mental health challenges. We care deeply about CALM's mission, and want to do everything we can to help fund their invaluable work.
I've found that running makes a huge, positive, difference to my mental health. After a couple of years off, I am back on the roads - aiming to run 35-40k a week, and planning to run six half marathons in 2023 to raise money for CALM.
I completed the Barcelona half marathon in February - and felt fantastic for it, having not completed an organised half for several years before that. My schedule for the rest of the year includes:
- The Brooklyn half marathon toward the end of April.
- The Hackney half in May - with a couple of MH&A colleagues.
- The Paris / Versailles 16k race in Sept - with a bunch of MH&A colleagues.
- The Bilbao midnight half in October - starting at the amazing San Mames stadium.
& one more, tbc. I know that if I run six big races in 2023, that will really help me sustain my good mental health - and keep me in my 'non fat' wardrobe.
I'd love it if, with you help, I could also raise a wedge of money for CALM.
'Cos funding CALM means saving lives.
