Story
Maureen McGinn CBE, also known as Lady Elvidge, has touched the lives of so many of us in the most wonderful ways. Caring and with endless patience, she is tirelessly working to surface the good in us and wider society - as a mentor, charity champion, colleague, connector, and, above all, as the best friend anyone could hope for.
With a special birthday fast approaching, please do join us in recognising how Maureen has been making this world a better place by supporting a Widening Participation studentship at the University of Edinburgh in her honour. Here are the details:
- The studentship will support a care-experienced young person studying at the University of Edinburgh with £5,000 per annum over 4 years.
- The University of Edinburgh has very generously agreed to match-fund all contributions up to £10,000.
- Any contributions beyond the £10,000 for the 4-year studentship will be used for widening participation work according to Maureen's wishes.
- Your contribution will also be eligible for GiftAid (for UK resident tax-payers only) – please do consider opting in, it is additional money going to a great cause!
- If you would prefer an alternative to JustGiving, you can make a direct bank transfer, using the following details:
