“Today marks 15 years since I lost my eye to cancer and in loving #memory of my son Nicholas Jeffery, I want to share a story of courage, love and awareness”

It was suggested by someone very dear to me I should celebrate the fact I’m still here. And yes…I understand that. But alongside that gratitude, I carry a sense of survival guilt.

From the very beginning my Nicholas was my greatest support - always encouraging me, lifting me up with his endless love, praising my strength and making me smile with his wonderful sense of humour,

But my beautiful boy was far braver than I ever was. In 2019 during Covid, sadly Nicholas was diagnosed with #myeloma cancer. He fought so hard, with such courage, after 24 gruelling months we lost him - February19th 2022 at just 55. My heart broke💔

So today in Nicholas’s memory - and because he would be so proud of me - for the first time in 15 years I am sharing a photo of myself discarding my glasses.
