Story
In 2012, I took a PSA test because I saw a poster in a service station about being tested and checked for prostate cancer. I was 48 at the time, and the doctor mentioned that testing typically starts at age 50.
Since I was already having a yearly check-up with other tests being conducted, the doctor decided to include the PSA test as well. Interestingly, while all the other tests came back perfectly fine, the PSA test did not. My reading was 8, with the upper limit being 20—almost halfway. I had no symptoms or signs that would have prompted me to get tested for prostate cancer.
Thanks to this charity, which placed a simple poster, a father of three children was able to detect the condition early and go on to see his children grow and lead wonderful lives, that is priceless.
This charity does so much more through research and testing, which is why it relies on your kind donations.
