Update - My Daddy lost his courageous battle with Alzheimer’s on November 14th. In memory of my hero and the most inspiring person I’ve ever known, I’ll still be running the marathon to make my Dad proud ❤️

On December 15th 2024, I will be running the Malaga Marathon to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society. As most of you know, my Dad is living with this horrible disease and as his favourite child (Sorry Pauline but we know it’s true haha), I wanted to raise both awareness and much needed funds for Alzheimer’s Society.

My legend of a Dad has been living with this terrible illness for several years now and I couldn’t be prouder of how he has dealt with everything. It was a frustratingly long process for Dad to receive his Alzheimer’s diagnosis with various misdiagnosis along the way, even though he had all the typical signs and behaviours. Some of this money raised will go towards helping people receive their diagnosis quicker. Some will go towards much needed care and support after diagnosis. Disappointingly, there is only limited support available.

Alzheimer’s is a truly awful disease, and one day there will be a cure. Until then, these fundraisers are needed to help and support people like my Dad.

My Dad always loved hearing about my races and loved getting my medal afterwards so running a marathon was always the best fundraising option for the best Dad.
