Story
As a veteran, I have witnessed first hand the profound impact military service can have on mental health, as well as the additional pressures it places on the families of service personnel. Tragically, I have known remarkable individuals who succumbed to the invisible wounds of PTSD, leaving devastation in their wake for those who loved them. When I learned that an inspiring former colleague was founding a charity to support veterans facing mental and physical challenges, I knew I had to be involved.
I’m proud to support Veterans Coastal Retreats which provides veterans and their families access to a tranquil holiday home on the stunning Cornish coastline. This sanctuary offers them the chance to heal, unwind, and create new, joyful memories away from the strains of everyday life. To do my bit, I have volunteered to run the Brighton Marathon. I have never run a marathon before and, now in my 40s, there is a non-zero chance that I might not survive; so please, give generously, and look after my family if I don't make it. THANK YOU.
