At Max Fordham we understand mental health can be impacted in many ways, and through many life events or even just in the process of day to day life.

We value both the mental and physical health of colleagues, friends, and all those we work with. Working in the construction industry can be an especially high pressure and challenging environment to work in at times, so it’s important that we feel supported and have the space to talk to a trusted colleague or reach out if we are feeling stressed or struggling.

We have several wellbeing measures in place across the practice; there are trained Mental Health First Aiders and Champions in each office, and we have an ongoing partnership with Health Assured (a confidential support network helpline). Each office encourages and organises social events and meet-ups, and strives to be an inclusive and supportive environment for everyone who works at Max Fordham.

As exercise and the outdoors is known to be beneficial for supporting positive mental health and for our general wellbeing, we have decided to do a sponsored Mental Health walk from our Edinburgh Office to the summit of Arthur's Seat on Wednesday 17th September 2025 to raise awareness of mental health and suicide prevention.

We'll be raising money for The Canmore Trust which is a brilliant charity based in Scotland. They offer help and support to both individuals and communities who have been affected by suicide, and for those who are suicidal and struggling with their mental health. We have chosen to support this life-changing charity as they have supported one of our colleagues through their grief, and the work they do is incredibly important and their impact long-lasting.
