Story
I am raising money and giving my time to volunteer for the Kosher Food Bank since it is helping Holocaust survivors and Jewish families who are unable to get food from Miami-Dade County’s regular food banks because of the need to maintain a Kosher diet.
This issue is important to me, especially as I become a Bar Mitzvah because I have been blessed and would like to help those that are struggling. I have seen homeless people on the streets in need of food, and I always felt that I could do something to help them.
The Kosher Food Bank, run by Jewish Community Services, serves 400 families and nearly 70 Holocaust survivors in our community, offering important items and daily necessities. The Kosher Food Bank is looking out for these families and schedules private one-on-one appointments so they can select their items and keep their dignity.
This is my way to help part of our Jewish community that struggles with food insecurity. My goal is to raise $1,000 from family and friends and I pledge $180 from my savings.
