The Trust aims to improve the education, training and welfare of young people in Uganda so they can go on to acquire the necessary skills for a successful and fulfilling life. We work in partnership with UK teaching and medical advisers to ensure our projects make a positive and lasting impact.

Story

Hello everyone,

The three of us have decided to embark on the gruelling challenge of an Ironman. The stage will be set on the 20th of August 2023 in Copenhagen. We originally intended to complete a half Ironman but the stakes got raised.

A full Ironman consists of the following:

- 2.4-mile/3.8km swim

- 112-mile/180km cycle

- 26.2-mile/42km run

- Pain, a lot of pain

We had a moment of sheer panic a couple of weeks ago when we realised that the first marathon each of us run will be after 2.4 miles in the water and a 112-mile bike ride! That's the bad news.

The good news is the cause behind this surprising athletic leap is a brilliant one: The Jinja Educational Trust.

Jinja has been instrumental in transforming lives in Uganda by delivering essential education and training to its children. The charity was the brainchild of Jon and Sue, who started it in 2017. Since its inception, it has become a lifeline for knowledge, successfully enlightening the lives of over 10,000 children.

We're inviting you all to be a part of our journey. Please donate to support us in this endeavour - every pound goes directly to the cause!
