Support Max's Half Marathon for the Big Space Cancer Appeal
The Challenge
Max Wilkinson MP has accepted the challenge from Health Minister Ashley Dalton to run a half marathon to raise vital funds for the Big Space Cancer Appeal at Cheltenham General Hospital. So, Max is going to run The Cheltenham Running Festival half marathon on 08 June.
The Cause
The Big Space Cancer Appeal aims to build a new, modern cancer centre at Cheltenham General Hospital, which serves as a designated regional cancer centre. While £8.5 million has already been raised through the incredible efforts of dedicated fundraisers in the Hospitals Trust and Cheltenham and Gloucester Hospitals Charity, another £9 million is needed to reach the target of £17.5 million.
The current facilities at Cheltenham General are badly in need of updating for modern cancer care. This new centre will provide better diagnosis, treatment, and recovery spaces for cancer patients across our region.
Why It Matters
This is a cause close to Max's heart. His dad died of Lymphoma and his wife has survived ovarian cancer. Modern facilities are essential for providing the best possible care for cancer patients.
How You Can Help
The Gloucestershire community is coming together to raise funds for this vital project and Max has been banging the drum in both Parliament and Cheltenham.
Your support will help create:
A modern, purpose-built cancer treatment centre
Better facilities for diagnosis and treatment
Improved recovery spaces for patients
Every donation, no matter how small, brings us closer to our goal of providing better cancer care facilities for our community.
