My name is Max Yakubov, and I’m excited to share an incredible adventure I’ll be embarking on in 2026 with the Hatters Explorer Scout Unit (ESU) — a journey to Kenya that combines my love for adventure with my passion for conservation.

Scouting has been a big part of my life since I joined as a Beaver at the age of 6. From Cubs to Scouts and now as an Explorer, I’ve enjoyed countless adventures—especially camping, which has always been a favourite. Whether it was pitching tents under the stars or exploring the great outdoors, these experiences have shaped my love for nature and my desire to protect it.

I’ve been fortunate to explore the natural world in amazing ways, from exploring the caves in Wales to hiking through the Alps in Austria I am very lucky to have had these experiences through scouting and they have shaped me as a person. Each experience has deepened my understanding of how interconnected we are with the environment and inspired me to do more.

This expedition to Kenya is the next chapter in that journey. I’ll be working on projects to help farmers protect their livestock from lions, camping in the iconic Maasai Mara, and supporting local building initiatives to strengthen communities. It’s a unique chance to give back while learning from the Maasai people, whose knowledge and dedication to conservation are truly inspiring.

To make this dream possible, I need your support. The funds I raise will cover travel and accommodation, allowing me to dedicate myself fully to these life-changing projects.
