CDARS aims to improve the lives of people experiencing poor mental health, substance misuse and other complex issues. Our holistic approach helps our clients improve their mental, physical, social and emotional wellbeing; their recovery and re-integration.

Story

Community Drug and Alcohol Recovery Services (CDARS) is a UK-based charity with over 30 years of experience helping vulnerable individuals facing substance misuse, mental health issues, and poverty. Their mission is to improve mental well-being and recovery by offering inclusive, non-judgmental services like counselling, support groups, and crisis intervention. The charity works to reduce the stigma around mental health and addiction while providing practical help to more than 1,200 people annually.

OUR GOAL

We are partnering with CDARS to raise £1,000 by running the Manchester Marathon in April 2025. This effort is part of a project called Liverpool x London x Manchester, which highlights the strength of community and mutual support.

Supporting CDARS this year is especially meaningful to us, as they shed light on critical issues like mental health and substance abuse - challenges that affect all of us in some way. Organisations like CDARS are essential in helping individuals regain balance in their lives, and we are honored to raise funds to help them continue their invaluable work.

Any contribution - big or small - moves us closer to the finish line and provides much-needed support for this incredible cause.

Thank you for your generosity,

Dan & Max

CDARS story: In 1985, a local mum from Sutton created one of the UK’s first family support group following her own experience of dealing with her son’s addiction. The group started in her home and soon expanded to become what is CDARS today.

Established in South West London, CDARS now works with some 1200 people facing mental health issues, substance/ alcohol misuse and other complex issues. Our holistic approach helps them improve their wellbeing and life circumstances to achieve recovery and re-integration and thus lead more fulfilling lives.
