There are over 23 rare salivary gland cancers. All have limited treatment options and poor outcomes. More research is desperately needed. Salivary Gland Cancer UK supports patients, families and friends, those treating patients and doing research. Collaboration to move things forward for us all.

Story

In January 2023, my friend Molly was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer known as Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma (ACC). This particular cancer is incredibly underfunded, lacks awareness, and suffers from a dearth of research. As a result, it often leads to delayed diagnoses and unfavourable outcomes.

Since her diagnosis, Molly has shown inspirational bravery. Alongside her family she has displayed strength and courage by raising awareness about ACC through various fundraising efforts. Their work has resulted in a remarkable achievement of raising over £30,000 for Salivary Gland Cancer UK—a UK-based charity dedicated to supporting individuals living with Salivary Gland cancers, including ACC.

On the 20th of August, I will be participating in Ironman Copenhagen and raising money for SGC UK. An Ironman consists of a 3.8km swim, 180km cycle, and a 42.2km run. Molly's strength in the face of adversity has motivated every stroke, pedal, and step during my training.

I kindly ask you to consider making a donation, no matter how small, to support Salivary Gland Cancer UK and their invaluable work in aiding individuals like Molly in their battle against ACC. Your support would mean a great deal. Thank you in advance for your support!
