Story
I’m running the Cardiff Half Marathon 2026 and I’ve chosen to support Cardiff & Vale Health Charity, our local NHS charity. I wanted to take on this challenge as a way of thanking the Ophthalmology team for the care they gave my brother following his cornea transplant, which helped improve his sight. Seeing first-hand the impact that treatment and support can have on someone’s life made me want to give something back and help raise awareness of the amazing work carried out by the Health Board.
Why this matters? Cardiff & Vale Health Charity is the official charity of Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. It supports all wards, departments, hospitals, community services, and research areas throughout Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. Every donation helps improve facilities, fund vital projects, and provide the best possible care.
By sponsoring my run, you’re not just supporting me, you’re helping to make a real difference to patients, families, and staff across our community. Together, we can Make It Better.
