I’ve lived in Felixstowe all my life, and this town has shaped every part of who I am. Becoming Mayor has been one of the greatest honours of my life, and with that comes the responsibility to stand up for the people and organisations that make our community what it is.

That’s why I’m taking on something completely outside my comfort zone, a 13,000ft tandem skydive at Beccles Airfield. In September, I’ll be climbing into a small aircraft, rising to two miles above Suffolk, and then stepping out into 40 seconds of freefall at 120 mph before the parachute opens for a six‑minute descent back to earth. It’s fair to say this is not my usual Sunday morning.

But I’m doing it for three charities that deserve every bit of support we can give them: Pitstop, Dora Brown, and Brave Futures. Each one plays a vital role in supporting people in our town.

What makes this challenge even more special is the team around me. We’ve brought together an incredible group of people: volunteers from our charities, our sponsors who care deeply about Felixstowe, and my own friends and family who have stepped forward to take the leap with me. Their courage and commitment mean a great deal.
