Story
As Mayor of Macclesfield for 2026/27, I have set myself the challenge of running 100km across ten 10km races across my Mayoral year.
I’m doing this in aid of one of my Mayoral charities, Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY), and in memory of my cousin Daniel, who passed away aged 24 in 2025.
As of 14th July 2026, I have completed 30km; running the following 10k races so far:
- Great Manchester Run 2026
- Race For Life (Tatton Park)
- Wilmslow Summer 10k
Please consider donating anything you possibly can - this money will go towards saving lives.

Introduction to CRY
Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions.
With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young.
By supporting CRY you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions.
