Story
Join me to raise £50 each.
As I pondered what to do about my 50th birthday I thought about all of the amazing ladies that I have had the privilege to do life with. Whether it has been for a short season of my life, or a longer one, you have been an important part of my journey and I’m so grateful to have known you and created memories with you.
So I decided to write a list of the ladies that have been significant to me over my 50 years in the hope of reaching 50. To my surprise, there was a lot more than 50!
Then I started thinking about what I could do to celebrate my birthday and thought it would be a fab idea if each of the ladies I wrote to would be able to fundraise £50 – so that together we could collectively make a bigger difference.
There are many amazing charities but I wanted to raise money for some of my passions – Kenya, Education and Special needs.
The Thunder Foundation (The Thunder Foundation) works with about 40 children in Kibera – one of the largest urban slums in Africa. It supports them through their education attending High school, primary school and 16 of whom attend special needs schools. It is a small UK based charity (Registered Charity: 1159407) which needs to raise about £1000 per child every year.
So I wondered if you would like to join me in raising £50 each. It may be that you host a fundraising event, a tea party, do something sponsored, give something up for a bit or simply donate the money.
I have set up a JustGiving page that you can donate to and perhaps write a little note if you did something fun or unusual to raise the money.
