Brothers help Brothers

Hi, we’re Egor and Yian (seen in the pic above, prior to our first half-marathon attempt. READ TILL THE END FOR THE POST-RUN PIC!) We’re two brothers, two, somewhat delusional brothers, who signed up to a marathon 1 and a half months out with little to no run training. Our goal is to raise money for Mazí housing. We call this Brothers help Brothers - we run, as best we can, for our less fortunate brothers.

When? 10th November

What marathon? The original, authentic, sometimes fatal Athens marathon :D

Importantly what charity? Mazí Housing, a grassroots charity that provides housing and resources for young asylum seekers.

Mazí runs two apartments in the city, providing a safe place for young men to live. This initiative results in 40 shelter seekers being given housing every year.

Mazí supports residents to deal with physical and mental health concerns, develop skills, find work & pursue their aspirations in life. This breaks the cycle of homelessness, helping each resident to leave prison-like camps, precarious basements, and rough sleeping on the streets, for good.

Why? Why condemn yourself to 42km of pain? Honestly, we're still trying to work this one out. But we've been told to tell people that it's because homes are the foundation of our lives. Mazí brings choice to young asylum seekers who need help and care to make the transition from adolescence to adulthood.
