Story

Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity, one of our two Charity Partners for the 2024/25 charity fundraising year, helps to provide the best possible care for young patients at Scotland's largest children's hospital. With your help, they can give young patients and their families the extra special care they deserve.

About McCrea:

McCrea Financial Services have been providing professional financial planning advice and assistance to individuals, businesses and charities since they were formed in 1999 by Managing Director, Douglas McCrea.

Based in Glasgow, but serving the whole of the UK, as well as clients abroad, McCrea pride themselves on providing a professional and friendly financial planning service.

As part of a commitment to the city where it all started, McCrea Financial Services are sponsors of a number of Glasgow based sporting teams including Glasgow Warriors and Partick Thistle, and work very hard to provide charitable support with just over £700,000 now donated to our nominated charities over the years. Last year saw a record-breaking fundraising year for McCrea, managing to raise £43,060 combined with your help for the Emma Cameron Foundation and Glasgow Care Foundation!

Celebrating our 25th birthday in May 2024, McCrea have set the very ambitious goal of raising £25,000 for each Charity Partner this year, meaning a total fundraising target of £50,000!

Our new Charity Fundraising year will tee-off with our 14th Annual Charity Golf Day at the Fairmont St Andrew's Torrance Course on Thursday 25th April, with the day already sold out!

On Saturday 27th April, McCrea Director and Pension & Investment Specialist Jonathan Campbell will be participating in Highland Fling Ultra Marathon through Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park in aid of our two new charity partners!

The race route follows the first 53 miles of the West Highland Way from Milngavie to Tyndrum, meaning that if a normal 53 mile run wasn’t hard enough in the first place, Jonathan will have to navigate over various running conditions, going from undulating runnable sections to technical rock and tree root dominated terrain where he will need to use his hands as often as his feet!

We are currently planning other events for the rest of the fundraising year, including a Charity Dinner and Wine Tasting event, and our Annual Charity Race Night.

Keep an eye out for details of these events, as well as other staff fundraisers, as we aim to raise as much money and awareness as possible for our two charity partners!
