Story
Hi Everyone,
On Sunday 17th May 2026, us McNamara kids will be taking part in the Hackney Half Marathon to raise money and awareness for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
In September 2025, after months of uncertainty and misdiagnoses, we received the heartbreaking news that our dad, Kevin McNamara, has Motor Neurone Disease (MND.)
For those who may not know, MND is a progressive neurological disease that affects the brain and nerves, gradually robbing people of their ability to move, talk, eat, swallow and breathe. There is currently no cure.
Our dad is one of a kind - so full of life, kind, caring, funny and always there to help others. He lights up every room he walks into, with his charisma and charm. Watching him face this disease with strength and resilience has been both inspiring and devastating for us all to watch. We are so proud of him and love him so much.
We are running to support the MND Association, who have been an incredible source of help for our dad and for us as a family. They fund vital research to find a cure, improve access to care, and campaign for those living with or affected by this cruel disease across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Hopefully one day there will be a cure to this disease to ensure no other family will have to go through what we have.
Every donation - big or small - will make a real difference. Your support means the world to us and to our dad.
Thank you so much for helping us raise awareness and as dad always says “happy days!”
The McNamara Kids xx
