I am sure you have read the horrific news this weekend about the attacks and massacres in Israel.

For me this is obviously very personal. My brother-in-law and cousins have been called up to serve in the Israeli Defence Force. A close relative of a synagogue friend is currently missing-in-action. Closer to home, our local falafel restaurant was vandalised and looted last night. Our people haven't experienced such an autrocity in 50 years and we are in shock.

As a result, I have decided to do a fundraiser for Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel’s national medical emergency, disaster, ambulance and blood service. MDA has been officially recognised by the International Committee of the Red Cross as the national aid society of Israel. My sister-in-law is a qualified 1st responder with MDA, working for them in her gap year before she started med school and they do really great work.
