Story
I'm running this half marathon in support of Holding Hearts, a charity that supports families through the heartbreak of losing a baby. It's a cause that has touched people close to me, and I've seen first-hand how vital compassionate, practical support can be during the most devastating moments imaginable.
Holding Hearts works with hospitals to provide memory boxes, training for staff, and ongoing support for bereaved families — small acts of care that make an enormous difference when the world has fallen apart.
Full disclosure: a half marathon isn't exactly new territory for me. I've done a few. But I've developed a slightly irritating tradition of something going wrong each time — calf and Achilles issues, COVID, flu… you name it. Personal bests have remained stubbornly out of reach.
This time, I'm going for one. And I'm hoping two things carry me there:
1. Your generosity for an incredible charity.
2. Enough good karma to finally break the curse.
If you're able to donate, I'd be hugely grateful. Every contribution helps Holding Hearts continue supporting families who truly need it — and might just give my legs the boost they need too.
Thank you ❤️
