East Kent Hospitals charity is the NHS charity for EKHUFT and raises funds for the wards and services provided by them. We are enormously grateful for any support we receive, whether it is a financial donation, helping to raise awareness of our work, planning a fundraising event.

Story

A group of final-year medical students from King’s College London, a lot of us have spent the majority of the past year training in the Cambridge Wards in William Harvey Hospital, Ashford.

We owe a lot to the patients and staff there for helping us get to the stage we’re now at. So we thought we would do something to try and help those who have helped us so much.

The Challenge:

On an indoor rowing machine, 12 of us will attempt to row a combined distance of 130km (distance as the crow flies between Ashford and Cambridge) within one 24-hour period. Some will be doing longer stints, some will be doing shorter, but this will not be easy for any of us!

The date/time of the challenge is set for 12:00 midday Tuesday 19th March – 12:00 midday Wednesday 20th March. We hope to be livestreaming the event so that those donating can track the progress.

Money raised will be split equally between the following 5 wards at William Harvey Hospital:

Cambridge J; Cambridge K; Cambridge L; Cambridge M1; Cambridge M2

We would be hugely grateful for any donations and any support that we receive. It would really mean a lot to us.

Wish us luck!

Joe, Muhammad, Rilind, Ali, Halima, Jake, Josh, Katie, Maisha, Rahul, Risako, Zohra
